Rope Halter Sizing

Most horses take the Average size, so that is the one we stock and the one shown on the halter pages. If your horse sits outside it, the Small is the same halter with a narrower noseband.

Average

Cut with a wider noseband than most halters, which lets one halter fit a range of horses — useful if you are haltering several. It fits roughly 900–1200 lbs, 14hh–16hh.

Small

For a fine-boned horse or a smaller head and nose. Every measurement matches the Average except the noseband, which is narrower to reduce bulk. It fits most smaller quarter horses and Arabians.

Measuring

Measure the horse before ordering. If a horse falls between sizes, size up — a halter that is slightly large sits correctly once tied, and one that is slightly small does not.
