Leather

We use Hermann Oak harness leather. It has been tanned in St. Louis since 1881 and there is no better argument for it than that.

Thick, strong, and soft out of the box — which is unusual, because most harness leather makes you earn it. Ours doesn’t need breaking in. It needs using.

It will darken. It will take the shape of the horse it lives on and the hands that buckle it. In two years it will look like yours and nobody else’s, which is the only kind of finish we’re interested in.
