The Rig

A complete set — headstall, reins, breast collar, bit and slobber straps — chosen to work together.

The pieces are matched on leather and hardware rather than assembled from what was in stock, so the chocolate harness of the breast collar and slobber straps reads against the rawhide of the headstall instead of competing with it. The mecate gives both a rein and a lead. The bit is a level 1, which is where most horses in regular work belong. Bought separately these five come to more; the set is the reason to buy them at once.
